Xavier's wish to learn to sew for charity

One Arizona boy has been making headlines after his mother revealed he had asked her to help him learn to sew so that he can make clothes for homeless children. The boy, Xavier Elliott, is ten years old but has already lived in homeless shelters with his family since they fell on hard times. Now things are starting to look brighter, he has decided to learn to sew - just like his mom - and the family are taking donations of sewing supplies so that he can make clothes for homeless children. In a post on the Clothes for Charity by the Elliott Family Facebook page, his mom Stephanie explained: "My son and I were talking while I was working on my purses and he said something that really blew me away. "He wants to start using his allowance to buy fabric to make clothes for homeless kids for this winter." On June 9th, she added that she and Xavier spent the morning learning to thread a sewing machine and the basics of sewing, and that she was about to teach him to trace sewing patterns. Now his story has been picked up by the world's media and news outlets - helping Xavier's dream of helping as many people as possible to become a reality.
